During my consulting stint, I came across a company which had continued to be in print media till as recent as early this year. Today I came across these mind boggling stats that reinforce the strategy to move to digital media with an even stronger mobile strategy, specially for companies that are into publishing where revenues are coming from advertising.
Mobile advertising is expected to grow by 38% in ’16 to USD 71 Bn as per mediavataar stats. During this period, the newspaper advertising is expected to further shrink by 4% to USD 68 Bn. If this happens, Mobile advertising will be the third largest medium in terms of revenue after Television and Desktop Internet. The report further states that almost 83% of the advertising dollars between ’14 – ’17 will be from mobile advertising.
